Social Networking Wars

Why Build a Business AROUND a Social Network?

Why Did We Post This Video?

Although humorous, this video puts the net’s largest Social Networking Sites into perspective. Just as a popular kid in school is only popular until High School is over that what is happened to Friendster and what is happening to MySpace. Although Facebook is broadening I am curious to see what happens 3-4 years down the road…I joined in college and I stopped using it years ago.

Granted the owners all made either (1) a great deal of money from selling out (2) a great deal of exposure (3) money from investors (4) advertising revenue. But just imagine if there was a profitable business model behind each site.

Just think if Kodak owned Flickr or the NCAA owned Facebook. Google paid $900 Million but even they find it hard to sell advertising space on MySpace…atleast for a high CPM.
