 Information Architect (IA)

WebBizIdeas is looking for an Informational Architect (IA) to join our creative team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The information Architect will work with business analysts, designers, and project managers to develop information architecture for web, product, and all online interactions.
Responsibilities:
  • Gather requirements to determine target audience and objectives; analyze user needs
  • Develop detailed wireframes that incorporate the technical, editorial, and usability aspects of web design projects
  • Translate business requirements into intuitive interface solutions
  • Participate in user research/usability testing (as needed or appropriate)
  • Collaborate with business analysts, design team and project managers as well as editorial staff to define new projects
  • Organize and maintain a library of patterns and templates to use across our network
  • Contribute to the expansion of our educational resource center & blog
Job qualifications:
  • 3+ years website architecture and interface design experience
  • Experience designing wire frames, web prototypes, user interfaces, and navigation systems
  • Keen on the latest web and interactive technologies
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills
  • Strong organization skills with an ability to juggle multiple projects and timelines
  • Able to work within project parameters: usability, tech constraints, and budget
  • Proficient and/or strong understanding of HTML, CSS, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash
  • Proficient and/or strong understanding of creating Search Engine Friendly WebsitesProficient and/or strong understanding of Conversion Rate Optimization
  • E-commerce, social, mobile and/or iPhone app experience a plus
  • Have a portfolio of successful planned, designed, and developed websites.
  • Comfortable working with tight deadlines and multiple projects
  • Knowledge of Axure a big plus
  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Sciences, Marketing, or related field (experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree)
** Although this is an Information Architect / Interaction Designer Position and NOT a Graphic Designer Position, being passionate about design and typography, detail oriented, and highly skilled at producing user-centered design solutions is a plus. At times you will work with our designers to ensure your wire frame is carried out to your specifications correctly.
