The Future Of Online Business
It is no secret that the future of online business involves Google & Mobile. Google’s rep just talked at the annual ANA conference and had a very interesting outlook on the growth of mobile technology. After watching this it is obvious they are focusing heavily on this.
Also, at the 40 minute mark Eric Schmidt (keep in mind his an advisory for the President of The United States as well as works for Google) had an extraordinary comment that relates to content. In short:
The technology to stream just about anything cheaply is very near. In his mind (keep in mind Google + President Adviser) the devise (radio, TV, cell phone) will not matter in the future, it will be the content that is important; because it will be able to be streamed through any medium or devise in the near future.
Meaning, you can run a TV station, News Room, etc… from your basement and get it in every household in the world because of the internet. Reaffirms that (1) content is so important (2) Internet TV technology is the wave of the future.

Great video. I’m embarrassed to say I did not know about this! Online entrepreneur for 5 years and… what have I been doing? As Eric said, it is hard to keep up. I’m glad that Google is going to move away from link dominance and into meshing w/ multi-media contained in written content. For awhile anyway?

I think we can get a bit carried away with the trends in mobile hardware and social software. Did the cell phone really transform business or just add another layer to an already existing infrastructure? There is something in the American psyche that thinks transformation is always just around the corner embedded in some new technology.
